Medical register of EMERCOM of Russia


This subdivision of the NRCERM is intended for information-and-analysis support of medical-social measures for risky occupation individuals and participants of mitigation of consequences of radiation accidents inhabiting the North-Western region of Russia.

The main objectives of the Medical Registry:

  • Individual registration of eligible persons.
  • Collecting, processing and analysis of data on the social status, professional load, health status, medical-psychological rehabilitation performed.
  • Assessment of work environment for monitored persons, identifying of risk groups and risk factors.
  • Development and advancement of methods for assessment of functional state of risky occupation individuals, e.g. during mitigation of consequences of major emergency situations.
  • Evaluation of the quality of medical support for risky occupation individuals.
  • Development of targeted treatment and health-improving activities (e.g. during mitigation of consequences of emergency situations) for health maintenance in monitored persons, increasing of their professional longevity and work efficiency of the search-and-rescue detachments and fire-fighting divisions.
  • Revealing of the long-term medical-biological effects of the adverse professional factors (radiation, chemical, biological, etc.) and developing proposals on social defence of monitored persons.

Observation scope: more 50,000 risky occupation individuals.
Observation duration: from the registration date to the completion of work for EMERCOM of Russia (for clean-up workers of the Chernobyl aftermath — till leaving the country or death).
