International collaboration

  The Federal State Budgetary Institute “The Nikiforov Russian Center of Emergency and Radiation Medicine” EMERCOM of Russia (hereinafter NRCERM) maintains international cooperation (both vertically and horizontally integrated) in research and educational spheres.

International cooperation is carried out not only by the Center itself:  leading NRCERM experts take active part in international projects and meetings.

The most significant vertically integrated centralized international cooperation:

  • NRCERM is a World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Accident Recovery Workers of Nuclear and Other Disasters;
  • Carries out Cooperation within the framework of World Health Organization/REMPAN (international Radiation Emergency Medical Preparedness and Assistance Network);
  • NRCERM director is a member of World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM);
  • NRCERM participates in the Program for overcoming of consequences of radiation accidents within the framework of Union State of Russia and Belarus.

Horizontally integrated centralized international cooperation includes:

·         Close cooperation with the Republican Research Centre for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology, Gomel, Belarus.

·         German Heart Institute, Berlin, Germany.

·         Center "Spectr" – Center for Preventive Medicine, Ecology and Peace of Chernobyl, Haifa, Israel.

·         Health Care Board of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Belarus.

In the framework of personalized scientific cooperation NRCERM personnel and experts work for programs of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Radiation Research Society (ERRS), etc.
